Oriental & Area Rug Cleaning

First we carry out a thorough pre inspection of every rug before it is cleaned. Pre-Inspection is very important as it brings to our attention anything which we may feel needs to be mentioned to the client prior to cleaning and also allows us to determine the best cleaning method.

Once the inspection is completed we will then fold the rugs and take them away for cleaning. (Some rugs may be cleaned on site)

Prior to cleaning all rugs are dye tested to check for colour migration. Rugs which bleed may still be wet cleanable if we are able to set the dyes, however, a small number of rugs which we test will not be cleanable at all.

All rugs are then mechanically beaten and thoroughly vacuumed as a rug can hold up to a pound of dirt per square foot before it even looks dirty.

They are then cleaned using the chosen method, either by immersion clean or HWE (Hot Water Extraction).

Once cleaned, the nap needs to be groomed with horse hair brushes in the correct direction and then left to dry using high powered turbo dryers.

Once rugs have been cleaned and dried the fringe is inspected to ensure that it is as clean as possible, extra attention is then made to the fringes when necessary.
